UFood Restaurant Group Inc. announced that CEO George Naddaff was honored by HealthCorps. The honor was bestowed on Naddaff for his leadership of UFood Grill and its commitment of providing healthy food options in a quick-service operation.

“We were thrilled to honor George Naddaff, CEO of UFood Grill, who has worked tirelessly to bring healthier dining out options to communities,” says HealthCorps president Michelle Bouchard. “We share the mission to help get our youth to make healthier lifestyle choices that will have a profound effect on communities across the USA.”

Dr. Mehmet Oz, heart surgeon and host of a nationally syndicated talk show, and wife Lisa founded HealthCorps to help stem the rise in child obesity and teen suicide rates in schools and communities across the country. Like a Peace Corps for Health, HealthCorps engages recent college graduates as in-school educators and mentors through a two-year full time assignment at a public high school.

“I am proud to have received this award presented by Dr. Mehmet Oz, founder of HealthCorps,” Naddaff says. “The obesity epidemic in America has even reached children with rising occurrences of diabetes. UFood Grill, ‘where delicious meets nutritious,’ will participate in fundraising programs to support HealthCorps in their mission to educate America’s youth on healthier eating and nutrition.”
