Yogurtland, the nation’s fastest growing frozen yogurt brand, has joined forces with global lifestyle brand, Sanrio, Inc. Since its inception more than 50 years ago, Sanrio has grown into a $5 billion global brand best known for icon Hello Kitty. Now, in partnership with Yogurtland, Hello Kitty, My Melody, Keroppi, and Chococat merchandise will be available at participating Yogurtland locations beginning July 21 for a limited six-week run in the U.S.; the promotion will kick off on July 28 in Hawaii and Guam and August 4 in Mexico City.
“Yogurtland and Sanrio are two synergistic brands with comparable business philosophies,” says Alexis Eldridge, Yogurtland vice president of marketing. “Sanrio’s ‘small gift, big smile’ and Yogurtland’s ‘You Rule’ messages combine to create unique experiences and endless dessert options. The partnership will provide Yogurtland guests additional opportunities to share their enthusiasm for both brands by taking home special collectable items.”
The high-profile partnership between Yogurtland and Sanrio is the first of its kind for the frozen yogurt industry. Janet Hsu, President of Sanrio, Inc., says, “Sanrio has cultivated a legion of multi-generational brand loyalists who will enjoy Yogurtland’s premium frozen yogurt and family friendly atmosphere, as well as the supercute limited edition products featuring our lovable characters.”
Sanrio and Yogurtland fans will enjoy highly collectable, limited edition co-branded products including a Hello Kitty plush wearing the signature Yogurtland uniform, key chains, and t-shirts featuring all four characters. Retail prices will range from $3.50 for a key chain to $19.99 for a t-shirt. Every customer will receive a specially designed cup and one of four biodegradable and eco-friendly collectible spoons featuring the Sanrio characters. Yogurtland and Sanrio will also host a promotional sweepstakes for fans to enter for a chance to win special prizes.
