HMSHost and Salt Lake City International Airport celebrates the grand opening of 13 new restaurants highlighting local and national favorites. The new restaurants bring a decidedly local twist, as seven of the 13 are Salt Lake City-area eateries. With a mix of Mexican, Greek, and Italian food, as well as coffee shops and bars, every traveler at Salt Lake City International is sure to find the delicious meal they are seeking before their flight.

“Sixty new shops and restaurants are now open at Salt Lake City International Airport and seven more will be added by Christmas,” notes Maureen Riley, executive director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. “We are very pleased to offer customers updated, refreshed options featuring outstanding local brands and national favorites.”

“With our long history in Salt Lake City, we could not be more excited about unveiling these terrific new restaurants”, says Joe Waller, vice president of business development at HMSHost. “It is a perfect mix of exceptional local restaurants like Market Street Grill and global favorites like Starbucks.”

Three of the local restaurants are in the food court between Concourses C and D, including Café Rio, a local Mexican restaurant that uses only fresh ingredients; Greek Souvlaki, a family-owned restaurant serving up authentic Greek dishes; and Market Street Grill, a true Salt Lake City success story known for its exceptional meals. Joining these restaurants is one of three new Starbucks Coffee Cafes.
“We are delighted to offer travelers from around the globe many of our most popular menu items featuring fresh seafood. Our goal is to deliver to our airport visitors a taste of the Market Street menu, style, service, and ambiance for which we are known and which reflects our locations within Salt Lake County,” says Tom Guinney, Gastronomy Partner.

Concourse C is now home to Salt Lake City Pizza & Pasta, which serves up authentic Italian cuisine and exceptional customer service, as well as Millcreek Coffee Roasters, a family-owned and operated Salt Lake City coffee house established in the early 1990s.

Travelers in Concourse D will also find two new dining locations. The new restaurants are Vivace Cucina Toscana, created by Salt Lake City’s award-winning Cucina Restaurant Group, which provides rustic Italian fare and an extensive wine list, along with Smashburger, making its airport debut and offering a wide selection of toppings for its signature burgers.

Concourse E travelers now have a chance to try another local Salt Lake City restaurant, High West Distillery & Saloon, serving nouveau western fare, artisan-crafted spirits and an impressive wine list, as well as a third Starbucks conveniently located in the lobby of Terminal 2.

Travelers in Concourse B will be treated to two new dining options: Auntie Anne’s, which offers fresh, hand- rolled pretzels in a variety of flavors and French Meadow Bakery & Café, offering healthy sprouted organic wraps, soups & salads.

Two new restaurants in Concourse A will provide quick, yet healthy, dining solutions for travelers. Customers looking for a healthy, transportable meal can make a quick stop at Great Wraps or make their way to Fresh Market OnTheGo, which offers freshly prepared nutritious gourmet meals and snacks for people-on-the-move.
