Now available at Carl's Jr., the Hostess Ding Dong Ice Cream Sandwich stars the chocolate snack cake, split in two and sandwiched around hand-scooped, premium vanilla ice cream. On the heels of the Most American Thickburger debut, today Carl’s Jr. introduces a most American new dessert creation to match that’s equal parts delicious and nostalgic.
“Carl’s Jr. is unique in that we use premium, hard-packed vanilla ice cream to make our Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes and Malts, which also gives us the opportunity to make some pretty awesome Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Sandwiches,” says Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of Carl’s Jr. “Since starting with Oreo Cookie a few years ago to, most recently, the Strawberry Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich, we’ve introduced some pretty imaginative creations using the real vanilla ice cream that we scoop out of tubs by hand, and it’s pretty fun to dream up new ones that no one has thought of before. After looking at many other options, Hostess’ iconic Ding Dongs, with their chocolate-coated, cream-filled cakes, made the most delicious ‘carrier’ for our latest ice cream sandwich. We make our Hostess Ding Dong Ice Cream Sandwiches inside the restaurants every day, with premium vanilla ice cream that we hand-scoop from the tub, just like you’d get at an ice cream shop. The result is a creamy, cool new spin on a classic American treat, and the perfect way to top off a Most American Thickburger in the hot summer months ahead.”
