Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., opened its
westernmost store to date in the continental United States today in Daly City, just south of San Francisco.

Located at 1575 Sullivan Ave. off Highway 280 at Washington Street, the new store brings Krispy Kreme fans in The City even closer to hot, fresh Original Glazed doughnuts. The Daly City store joins a family of three existing Bay Area stores located in Mountain View, Union City and Pittsburg.

“People are going crazy about Krispy Kremes here,” she said. “I’m considered a goddess because I grew up eating them.”

And as with all Northern California Krispy Kreme store openings, guests can also help a good cause. The store will share a portion of its opening-day revenues with the Daly City Police
Department’s Police Athletic League. Guests can also make their own donations at boxes located inside the store.

The doughnuts are only one part–although a very big part, to be sure–of the Krispy Kreme tradition. We’re also excited about joining a new community and finding ways to partner with nonprofit organizations, especially those that
help young people succeed,” said Brad Bruckman, who, with his wife, Maria Bruckman, operates Golden Gate Doughnuts LLC, the Northern California franchisee for Krispy Kreme.

Besides Krispy Kreme stores in the Bay Area, Golden Gate Doughnuts LLC also operates stores in Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Modesto, and Fresno. Future stores are planned for San Jose and Santa Rosa, in addition to other Northern California locations.

Like many Krispy Kreme stores throughout the country, the Daly City store features 24-hour drive-thru service, plenty of customer seating, and a glass viewing area so customers can watch the doughnuts being made. Those familiar with Krispy Kreme will recognize the “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign, which lights up every time the store is making its hot Original Glazed doughnuts.

Fifteen varieties of doughnuts are available along with beverages such as Berkeley Farms Chug milk, Pepsi sodas, fruit juices, bottled wate,r and coffee. Krispy Kreme serves its own specialty blend of coffee made from a selection of 100 percent arabica beans. The coffee beans are ground fresh in stores for each individual pot of brewed coffee.
