Hungry Howie’s is celebrating its tenth year of the “Love, Hope & Pizza” campaign, which is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. (NBCF). Since the campaign launched in 2009, Hungry Howie’s has raised more than $2.5 million to support survivors and those currently battling breast cancer by donating a portion of sales from its iconic Flavored Crust pizzas. In honor of their tenth year, Hungry Howie’s is offering their fans a medium 1-topping pizza for $1 with their online purchase of a large 1-topping pizza at regular menu price.

Every October during their Love, Hope & Pizza initiative, Hungry Howie’s serves its famous Flavored Crust pizzas in pink boxes embossed with the NBCF logo. For every pizza purchased in a pink box during Love, Hope & Pizza, Hungry Howie’s will make a donation to NBCF. In-store, guests also have the opportunity to help “Spread the Hope” with the purchase of pink paper pizza slices for just $1, hanging them on the wall to let it be known that they have joined in the fight against breast cancer. Another way for customers to help contribute is making donations of $1, $5 or $10 in-store or online throughout the “Love, Hope & Pizza” campaign.

For customers who prefer to order via Hungry Howie’s mobile app or online, they can also opt to add an additional donation to NBCF during checkout by either donating the change from rounding up their bill to the nearest dollar. Supporters can also visit Hungry Howie’s “Love, Hope, & Pizza” official donation page and make a contribution.

Hungry Howie’s aims to spread awareness not only through its nationwide in-store and online purchases, but through social media. Hungry Howie’s will be giving away 10,000 medium 1- topping pizzas throughout October. The first 10,000 pizza lovers who complete the form at https://www.facebook.com/hungryhowies will receive a coupon for a free medium 1-topping pizza. Restrictions apply. Fans are also encouraged to share their experiences with breast cancer, as well as stories of love, hope and inspiration, on social media using the hashtag #lovehopepizza.

This year, Hungry Howie’s takes “going pink” even further by providing free mammogram days in three U.S. cities. As part of a continued commitment to raise awareness about breast health, Hungry Howie’s will be hosting mobile mammogram events in Detroit, Phoenix, and Charlotte for those who are uninsured and unable to access this potentially life-saving screening.

The first event will kick off in Detroit on Thursday, September 26 where Hungry Howie’s has partnered with Henry Ford for pre-screening mammograms in their mobile unit. The next event will be in Charlotte on Friday, October 7 where Hungry Howie’s has partnered with Novant Healthcare to provide on-site mammograms. Lastly in Phoenix, Hungry Howie’s will be partnering with Mobile On-site Mammography (M.O.M) by SimonMed Imaging to schedule appointments and screenings on Monday, October 11.

“We are proud to celebrate 10 years of our Love, Hope & Pizza campaign. Since its inception, it has become an integral part of the Hungry Howie’s culture and we look forward to supporting NBCF on raising breast cancer awareness beyond the month of October,” says Steve Jackson, CEO of Hungry Howie’s. “In addition, this year, we are also providing more than 100 uninsured women with free mammogram screenings in partnership with local hospitals in Detroit, Phoenix and Charlotte. A mammogram is important for early detection and can significantly improve the chances of survival. It is an honor for us to support those who do not have access to these potential life-saving screenings, resources and health education.”
