In honor of National Nurses Week beginning on May 6, Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is donating meals to hospitals across several states. So far, the cult-favorite sandwich shop from San Francisco has provided over 100 meals for staff at UC San Diego Medical Center and the Pavilion Nursing Home in Fullerton, CA, with many additional donations slated this week.
“We want to do our part to help overcome this pandemic by making sure frontline workers are taken care of,” says Renae Scott, CMO of Ike’s Love & Sandwiches. “Supporting nurses on the front line is just part of our commitment to the ‘love’ part of our ‘Ike’s Love and Sandwiches name.”
The donated meals included Ike’s popular sandwiches on his signature Dutch Crunch Bread and secret Dirty Sauce. With over 800 sandwich combinations, including plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, there is something for everyone to love at Ike’s.
On National Nurses Day, May 6, all Ike’s locations are offering 50% off meals to nurses and health care workers with proof of ID. This is available for in-store takeout only. Ike’s operates over 70 locations in 5 different states.
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches first opened in 2007 under the name “Ike’s Place” in San Francisco with sandwiches created by Ike Shehadeh. The small sandwich shop quickly developed a cult and celebrity following, thanks to the creative and delicious offerings on Dutch Crunch bread with “Ike’s Dirty Secret Sauce.” Ike is constantly adding new styles to the menu with many named after celebrity athletes who often work with Ike to develop their own sandwich creation like the Madison Bumgarner, Andre S.O.G. Ward and Marshawn Lynch. Each location opens with its own exclusive sandwich, imaginatively named for the community. Ike’s has always put its customers’ happiness first.
