“We are delighted to welcome Jersey Mike’s to Charlotte Douglas International Airport,” says CLT’s Chief Business and Innovation Officer Haley Gentry. “The popular sandwich shop offers another favorite eating spot in the terminal that is sure to be a big hit with CLT’s more than 120,000 daily passengers.”
Jersey Mike’s believes that making a great sub sandwich and making a difference can be one in the same. Every store Jersey Mike’s opens starts by partnering with a charity in the local community. In celebration of the new Charlotte Douglas location, Jersey Mike’s made a donation to Grace-Mar Services Inc. – a not-forprofit with a mission to provide education, counseling, and professional networks to displaced workers, minorities and low to moderate income families.
HMSHost joined Jersey Mike’s through the HMSHost Foundation in a matching donation to Grace-Mar Services Inc. The HMSHost Foundation works to fight poverty in the local community with food, shelter, education, and workforce development opportunities.
These donations support their future of working together to make a difference in the lives of many throughout the Charlotte area community. Grace-Mar Services’ Upward Mobility programs and services have created multiple employment opportunities for associates at HMSHost-operated dining venues at Charlotte Douglas.
Together, GraceMar Services and HMSHost are giving these individuals an opportunity to achieve financial literacy, job readiness, placement opportunities, and self-empowerment.
“Opening at Charlotte Douglas International Airport is an exciting milestone for us, especially since North Carolina helped put Jersey Mike’s on the map,” said Phil Capozzi, VP Non-Traditional Development, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc.
“It’s exactly 25 years since we opened our first restaurant in the state, and thanks to a wonderfully warm reception, this marks our 125th location in North Carolina. This is hopefully the first of many more units we will open with HMSHost.”
