As California staple Jimboy’s Tacos has grown from a single beach food trailer in Lake Tahoe, California in 1954 into a thriving 40-unit franchise system, it has always placed great emphasis on customer satisfaction to deliver the delicious, hand-made food guests crave. Maintaining this tradition in response to growing demand, Jimboy’s Tacos is introducing an extra-large take on its signature Tahoe Burrito: the Tahoe XL Burrito, available at participating Jimboy’s Tacos locations across Northern California and Nevada from May 1 to June 30.
“After a successful run on the menu at our Southern California locations, Jimboy’s is excited to bring the Tahoe XL Burrito to these new markets for the first time as a limited-time offer,” says Director of Marketing Dina Guillen. “This menu innovation allows us to deliver our guests the bigger portions they’ve been searching for.”
Complete with 50 percent more rice, beans and meat than the standard Tahoe Burrito, Jimboy’s Tacos Tahoe XL Burrito also comes packed with fresh pico de gallo, hand-grated cheese and sour cream. Guests have a variety of protein options including the signature seasoned ground beef that has helped Jimboy’s Tacos make a name for itself over the last six decades. Other proteins include grilled chicken, carnitas, shredded beef, plus steak and shrimp. The Tahoe XL Burrito will be available for order at participating locations through the Jimboy’s Tacos mobile app or via online order.
Jimboy’s Tacos prepares its rice and beans in small batches daily to ensure freshness. Beans are triple-washed and slow-cooked for hours, while Spanish rice is prepared fresh each morning using long grain rice, freshly chopped onions, tomato sauce and a special blend of spices. Also in line with founder Jim “Jimboy” Knudson’s original vision, Jimboy’s Tacos has only ever served cheese in its tacos and burritos that is hand-grated fresh each day. This sort of quality control down to every detail is why Jimboy’s still remains a guest favorite after all this time.
“Jimboy’s Tacos is so much more than fast food. We’ve been making our food from scratch on a daily basis for 65 years, delivering that same high-quality offering with freshness at its core even as we’ve continued to innovate,” Guillen adds. “At Jimboy’s, we’re committed to taking the extra steps to make sure our food maintains its quality with every crispy, juicy, ooey-gooey bite. It’s hard work, but every day, it’s a labor of love.”
