Just Salad, a New York City–based salad chain, officially announced the opening of five new locations to open in 2012 in its quest for domination of the healthy, quick-service market: two locations in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn, one in Singapore, and one more in Hong Kong.

The Just Salad Singapore location is the first of three stores to open in the next two years. Located inside the Changi Business Park in Eastern Singapore, the store will be almost identical to its New York and Hong Kong counterparts.

Brightly colored, reusable bowls will be sold, there will be a Culture Bar (which has smoothies and frozen yogurt), and Just Salad’s famous Chef-Designed Salads and wraps will be on the menu.

In creating the menu, registered dietitian and chef Laura Pensiero wanted to highlight local cuisine preferences. The Just Salad Singapore menu contains several different toppings, including couscous and smoked salmon.

With the move of its Des-Voeux St. store in Hong Kong to Kowloon Station this winter, a third location is set to open at Hong Kong Station by the end of 2012. The overwhelming popularity of Just Salad Hong Kong among both natives and ex-pats prompted the desire for expansion in Asia.

Back on the home front, Just Salad decided to venture across the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn, New York, into the Park Slope neighborhood.

Opening this winter, the menu will be the same as the current NYC menu, with the possible addition of a children’s menu.

The two stores in Manhattan—one at World Wide Plaza, the other at 663 Lexington Avenue—are also set to open this winter.

Just Salad will continue its aggressive growth strategy by doubling its current store count by the end of 2013.

Just Salad and chef Pensiero are committed to serving healthy food that tastes great in a fast, fun, and affordable way.
