Just Salad, the NYC-based fast casual concept that cultivates healthier lifestyles by serving real food at an affordable price, will soon serve salads (and wraps, bowls, smoothies, and more) in the Sunshine State. With 34 locations in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Chicago, Hong Kong, and Dubai, Just Salad will bring six additional locations to Florida in 2019.
Just Salad’s first Florida location will open its doors at 1404 West University Avenue in Gainesville this Spring. Steps away from the University of Florida, Just Salad expects its concept to resonate among members of the school’s 60,000-plus student body and faculty who are seeking fresh, affordable, and healthy options. The Gainesville location is being built with student life in mind, featuring patio seating, mobile ordering, and delivery.
Following the Gainesville opening, Just Salad will open five additional locations in South Florida later this year, starting with Pembroke Pines (Pembroke Lakes Square at 221 North Hiatus Road), Boca Raton (Boca Center at 5050 Town Center Circle) and Miami (Shoppes of Civica at 1050 NW 14th St). Just Salad expects to create over 150 jobs in Florida in 2019 alone. “Just Salad is a perfect fit for the active, healthy lifestyles of Floridians,” says Nick Kenner, founder & CEO of Just Salad. “While there are countless fitness options throughout Florida, we noticed that there are surprisingly few places to grab quality, great tasting, and healthy food on the run. Just Salad will fill that void better than anyone else!” Just Salad was founded by Nick Kenner as an answer to a simple question: what’s with the shortage of healthy fast food? Kenner worked closely with a registered dietician to develop health-minded recipes that could be made in a New York minute, and in 2006 he debuted the healthy fast food concept at 320 Park Avenue in New York City.
Just Salad has earned acclaim for its reusable bowl, the World’s Largest Restaurant Reusable program, which saves over 75,000 pounds of plastic each year. For $1, guests can purchase a reusable bowl and receive free toppings with every visit.
