Residents of San Antonio, Texas, are about to wake to the smell, warmth, and comfort of freshly baked bread. Kneaders Bakery & Café, a fast-casual restaurant and retail shop, will open its newest location at 21639 Hardy Oak Blvd in San Antonio on Saturday, August 23.

The first 100 customers will receive free French toast as part of the grand opening festivities. Regular hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We’re excited to bring our fresh-made European hearth bread and other wonderful products to Texas,” says James Worthington, CEO of Kneaders Bakery and Café. “San Antonio is a great city, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to open our first store there. The past couple of years has seen tremendous growth for our company and new opportunities for our franchisees.”

Joel Orton is the operating partner for the new location, which marks the company’s first unit in the state of Texas.

Kneaders Bakery and Café specializes in European hearth breads that are made daily. Kneaders also offers a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, and 40–50 different pastries in a family-friendly environment. Since opening its first location in 1997, Kneaders Bakery and Café has expanded to 29 locations across five states. The company has plans to expand to the Denver market with a unit in the suburb of Parker, Colorado, in September.
