This 4^th of July, Krispy Kreme is helping doughnut fans declare their independence from the traditional milkshake with the introduction of its new Kool Kreme Doughnut Shake.

The new Kool Kreme Doughnut Shake combines Krispy Kreme cake doughnuts with Kool Kreme soft serve for a one-of-a-kind new take on the milkshake. As a special gift, Krispy Kreme is giving away a free small doughnut shake to doughnut fans with 4^th of July birthdays.

“What better way to celebrate America’s Birthday than with the great taste of two of this country’s favorite treats: Doughnuts and soft serve ice cream,” asks Chef Ron Rupocinski, corporate chef for Krispy Kreme.

Hundreds of Krispy Kreme Doughnut fans sampled the new shakes during a three-week product test in Krispy Kreme’s hometown Triad, North Carolina, area.

“We put a new spin on the classic milkshake and our hometown fans have really been enjoying it,” says Dwayne Chambers, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme. “People are enjoying the authentic flavors of our doughnuts and the richness our Kool Kreme soft serve gives these shakes.”

Guests can show proof of their July 4^th birthday at any Krispy Kreme location between now and July 4^th and get a free 12-oz. doughnut shake.

Kool Kreme Doughnut Shakes are available at all Krispy Kreme Kool Kreme locations in the North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Louisville, Kentucky in the following flavors:

Original Glazed –This cool twist on the vanilla shake combines Very Vanilla Kool Kreme, Original Kreme syrup, and a Krispy Kreme cake doughnut.

Chocolate Cake – Chocolate Kool Kremeis blended with a glazed old fashioned chocolate cake doughnut for the ultimate chocolate delight.

Raspberry Filled – A cake doughnut, raspberry filling, and Very Vanilla Kool Kremeall combine to create this tasty treat.

Each flavorful blend is topped off with whipped cream and a cherry.
