The Krystal Company announced its “Late Night Lyft” Nashville New Year’s Eve program as part of a smart-ride sponsorship with Lyft, the rideshare company whose mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. Krystal, the South’s original fast-food restaurant, is a popular late-night destination for diners at 36 Nashville locations and over 350 restaurants across the Southeast.
Krystal’s Late Night Lyft initiative provides free rides on Monday, December 31 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day within a 25-mile radius of downtown Nashville. Krystal’s $40,000 sponsorship is the largest of its kind for Lyft in the state of Tennessee.
“With 100,000 attendees expected yet again for New Year’s Eve in Nashville, I’m thankful that companies such as Lyft and Krystal are stepping up to provide a free, smart transportation option,” says Nashville Mayor David Briley. “I encourage all residents to make safe choices this holiday season.”
New Year’s Eve partygoers can reserve a free Lyft ride (up to $15 off), while supplies last, using the code KRYSTALNYE. The codes will be released in advance, claimed via direct app or digitally and then redeemed on New Year’s Eve. Previous Lyft smart-ride partnerships have included Heineken for Thanksgiving Week, Bud Light for the Beale Street Music Fest, and Miller Lite for Titans games.
“Corporate social responsibility is part of our DNA,” says Krystal CMO Dominic Losacco. “We’re also about creating memorable, sharable moments. We want folks to have fun, stay safe and make responsible choices while celebrating New Year’s Eve in Nashville.”
Troopers have arrested 6,162 drivers for DUI, 87 in Davidson County so far this year compared to 7,492 drivers for DUI with 66 in Davidson County in 2017, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. DUI arrests are at their highest between Thanksgiving and the end of New Year’s weekend.
“Nashville residents and visitors alike can count on Lyft and Krystal to help make the first decision of the New Year a good one: taking a free ride with Lyft,” adds Sam Nadler, Lyft Nashville general manager.
