Symbolic of the comforting and flavorful foods found in markets and cafés along the streets of France, la Madeleine is channeling that flavor as it invites guests to savor the Country French Trio. Continuing the tradition of made-from-scratch, country French recipes filled with fresh ingredients, the Trio showcases la Madeleine’s roots in a variety of options for its guests.
In la Madeleine’s 70-plus cafés nationwide, guests can customize their Country French Trio with two halves of la Madeleine’s French specialties alongside a cup of soupe or petite salade.
“Our French specialties are some of our most cherished items on the menu. They tie directly back to our roots and are certainly authentic country French, savory, and comforting, but still very approachable,” says Susan Dederen, vice president of culinary for la Madeleine. “The Country French Trio is the perfect opportunity for our guests to try something new.”
With the Trio, guests can choose from several of the brand’s signature items, including the rustic and hearty Chicken Friand, a flaky puff pastry shell filled with chicken, mushroom, onion, and Swiss topped with creamy wild mushroom sauce. Other options include the Spinach Pochette, with creamy spinach and Swiss filling in a puff pastry shell. Or guests can savor la Madeleine’s homemade quiche, baked in a buttery, flaky pie crust. The Quiche Lorraine is filled with an egg, ham, bacon, and Swiss custard or the Quiche Florentine has a house-made egg, spinach and Swiss filling.
In addition to the specialties, la Madeleine’s Country French Trio offers a selection of fresh-made salades and soupes, including the White Bean & Vegetable, Tomato Basil, French Onion, or Cream of Mushroom soupes and the Caesar or Wild Field salades.
“We’re extremely proud of our French specialties, handcrafted every step of the way. And we also know it’s important to our guests to make their meal their own,” says John Cahill, chief operating officer of the Dallas-based brand. “The Country French Trio is our way to introduce (or reintroduce) these recipes to guests, while giving them the opportunity to choose and customize to their desire. My personal favorite is the Chicken Friand with creamy wild mushroom sauce. I can’t get enough.”
