La Madeleine Country French Café is making company history. The highly anticipated opening of its new bakery café in Lubbock marks the endearing brand’s first franchise location.
Lubbock-based French Twist, owned by Buddy Beach, a well-known local entrepreneur and seasoned franchise investor and operator, is opening the location at 4406 19th Street in the recently renovated space at West Gate shopping center. Beach is the Lubbock franchisee of Red Mango Frozen Yogurt and Smoothies.
“It comes with great pride that we open la Madeleine in Lubbock…a brand that has won the admiration and appetites of many guests,” says Beach, who also is a self-made success in the oil and gas industry. “From the moment la Madeleine announced its franchising initiative I knew I wanted to bring it to Lubbock. I’ve always felt that la Madeleine stands out among the fast-casual bakery crowd, and I know my friends and neighbors here in Lubbock feel the same. It is an honor to open the first la Madeleine franchise location, and we look forward to making a positive impact on the Lubbock community.”
“Start to finish, Buddy has been on a mission to create an experience unlike any other, and that’s exactly why la Madeleine is such a good fit for Lubbock,” says Paul Carolan, chief development officer for la Madeleine. “We are thrilled to reach this point with him. He is a rock solid operator who will carry on the la Madeleine tradition in West Texas.”
Lubbock’s la Madeleine has been designed to reflect the brand’s new layout and décor, which unites comfort with the French country atmosphere—the signature la Madeleine motif. Wood floors, hearth fireplaces, and rustic beams, along with a lighter color palette all accentuate the brand’s updated look and feel.
“Restaurant ownership groups love the look and ambiance of la Madeleine,” says Darren Bothe, senior director of franchise development for la Madeleine Country French Café. “We have a distinct concept that is in a class by itself in the fast casual restaurant segment. Buddy is a fantastic operator and will see great success in Lubbock.”
This significant occasion in la Madeleine’s history comes as it continues to build momentum for its recently launched franchising initiative—a growth plan to develop the concept with proven restaurateurs and experienced entrepreneurs. Part of la Madeleine’s appeal is its consistent customer traffic throughout the day, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The concept offers a ground floor opportunity to become part of a brand known for its food and ambiance in the restaurant industry’s top-performing fast-casual sector.
