Foodmix Marketing Communications, a leader in strategic marketing for top brands in the food industry, announced its rank on the seventh annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest growing private companies.

The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent entrepreneur’s – and is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2009 to 2012. Foodmix joins companies including LivingSocial, Edible Arrangements, CDW, and Lifelock, among other prominent brands featured on this year’s list.

“Due to rising commodity costs and the economic downturn, the past few years have been difficult for both the food industry and the advertising industry,” says Dan O’Connell, CEO of Foodmix. “We have weathered the storm and continued to be successful, which I attribute to our people and their creative thinking and approach in building our clients brands – making sure they are everywhere they need to be.”

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2013 Inc. 500|5000 companies is an impressive 142 percent. The companies on this year’s list report having created over 520,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $241 billion.

“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500|5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields, they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do,” says Eric Schurenberg, editor of Inc. “They are the hidden champions of the job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy.”

Including being ranked on the Inc. 500|5000 this year, Foodmix Marketing Communications was honored with a Telly Award by the Silver Telly Council in the 34th Annual Telly Awards competition. The firm received the award for its 30-second TV spot entitled “Dinner Triangle,” created for Pioneer Gravy. The win came on the heels of Foodmix’s five Gold Awards at the 42nd annual Creativity International Awards competition for a variety of creative work.
