Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, a five-unit, growing restaurant concept, announced a partnership with SHARE Florida, a non-profit organization that offers substantial savings on high-quality food packages for those in need.
During this Thanksgiving season, Lime and SHARE Florida have partnered up to give families in Broward and Dade counties of something to be thankful for. Lime donated more than $4,000 to SHARE Florida, which will provide meals for more than 150 families. Each family will be provided with the following: 10–14 lb. turkey, pumpkin pie, stuffing mix, turkey gravy mix, cranberry sauce, jiffy buttermilk biscuit mix, and assorted fresh fruits and vegetables.
“We are very fortunate to be able to give back to others who are in need, especially during these tough times,” says Lime Fresh Mexican Grill’s CEO John Kunkel. “I have made it a priority to keep giving back as we grow, and will continue to help each new community Lime enters.”
In addition to providing turkeys for all of its employees at every Lime location this year, Lime’s corporate team and franchisees will get together on November 21 beginning at 5 a.m. to help SHARE volunteers give families their Thanksgiving meals at host locations near each of Lime’s locations, in addition to Lime’s newest location in Downtown Dadeland, set to open in January 2010.
SHARE’s non-profit status and network of thousands of volunteers throughout Florida allow them to offer a nutritious variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and frozen meats at a discounted price from their national and local food distributors. SHARE has been helping people save money, build community ties, and lead healthier lives in Florida since 1990.
“The state of the economy has really increased the amount of families who need our help, especially during this holiday season,” says Teresita Aguirre, field representative for the Southeast for SHARE Florida. “We are very grateful for Lime’s generous contributions this year, and we know it will give more than 100 families something to be grateful for this Thanksgiving season.”
Throughout the past year, Lime has raised and donated more than $25,000 to local and national charities.
