Debuting Saturday, September 26 in the Westfield San Francisco Centre, Portland, Maine–based Lobster ME will introduce its innovative, lobster-centric menu to the Bay Area. Founded with the goal of changing how people think about and enjoy lobster, Lobster ME is known for its commitment to sustainably harvested lobster and a menu of distinctive, handcrafted dishes.
Lobster ME’s San Francisco location will be a first for the brand in California. With two locations in Las Vegas, Nevada, and one in Bethesda, Maryland, Lobster ME will now offer its Maine favorites nationwide with a few local twists.
Lobster ME San Francisco will give the Bay Area the luxury of lobster in an approachable and affordable setting. “The hero of our menu is Maine lobster and we’re bringing it to San Francisco with flavor-packed recipes using fresh, local ingredients,” says COO Kristen Bailey. “We’re introducing a new lobster roll called ‘Golden Gate,’ specially created in celebration of joining the San Francisco community.”
The first restaurant to add gourmet twists and regionally inspired lobster rolls, Lobster ME offers traditional tastes and new interpretations of one of America’s favorite summer treats. The Lobster ME menu is a lobster lover’s dream with Lobster Rolls including the traditional The Original Maine Style, lobster meat with just a touch of mayo and chives, and The Connecticut, made with butter-tossed warm lobster meat served in a brioche bun. New favorites, inspired by the cities that Lobster ME calls home include The Beltway, inspired by the Maryland region’s beloved crab cake, with warm Maine lobster tossed with Old Bay spice, shallots, and chives topped with butter-toasted panko crumbs; and Golden Gate, inspired by San Francisco’s love of sushi, with warm Maine lobster mixed with miso mayo, scallion, and white sesame seeds, served in a toasted brioche bun and topped with shredded nori.
Other lobster-filled dishes include Lobster Mac and Cheese, warm, and creamy Cheddar sauce blended with chunks of sweet Maine lobster and pasta shells; and the Lobster Grilled Cheese, melted Brie and Gruyere cheese layered with Maine lobster on white bread, grilled to perfection.
To celebrate Lobster ME in San Francisco, the first 100 guests at the new location will receive a free lobster roll from opening day on September 21 to 23. The first 100 visitors in line each day will receive a complimentary Golden Gate Roll.
