Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY – News) today introduced a new logo and tagline, “Good things come from Sysco.” The new logo, which replaces both the current cube and uppercase acronym images, highlights Sysco’s commitment to quality food, beneficial partnerships, and sustainability across the food business spectrum. The new tagline speaks to all audiences: customers, suppliers, investors, the communities in which Sysco operates, and current and future associates.
“Our cube logo served us well for 38 years, but our customers tell us that we’ve become so much more to them since it was introduced. In short, their experience with us exceeds their expectations,” says Rick Schnieders, Sysco’s chairman and CEO. “We want to capture that brand equity and this new visual image will help us communicate the Sysco of today and the future.”
The new logo features a clean and fresh image, encompassing Sysco’s name, logo, and tagline in one element. A prominent feature of the logo is a green leaf in the letter ‘y’ of Sysco. The leaf signifies quality food, Sysco’s industry, and the company’s commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Sysco’s fleet of 9,000 trucks and trailers–which drove 10 million fewer miles in FY 2008 than in FY 2007 due to efficiency and conservation efforts–will begin converting to the new look as new equipment replaces retiring equipment. Sysco’s many operating companies will adopt the new brand based on a new graphic standards manual.
