“Get your sea legs ready!” That’s what national chain Pizza Inn told Ruston, Louisiana, resident Eugene Pangilinan, when it showed up on his doorstep Friday, August 12, to announce he had won a seven day, six night Caribbean cruise in Pizza Inn’s national “Boatload of Fun” sweepstakes.
When Pangilinan answered and saw company icon JoJo, Pizza Inn employee,s and local franchise owner, Scot Brasuell, holding balloons and a pizza, he knew something big was happening. Pangilinan won the grand prize Caribbean cruise for four. His lucky news also means boatloads of fun for the entire city of Ruston.
Now through the end of August, all residents are invited to cruise over to Pizza Inn at 1108 Cooktown Rd., for a special carryout offer: one large pizza with one topping for $8.
“This is definitely the most unique delivery we’ve done,” Brasuell says. “A Caribbean cruise and a Pizza Inn pizza – wow! It’s exciting to have our grand prize winner in Ruston, and we’ve decided to celebrate with the community by offering a carryout special through the end of August.”
Pizza Inn customers were invited to enter the sweepstakes via text message, online, or by using their phone to scan the QR code. One entry per week was allowed during the contest, which ran May 30 through July 31.
“This is so exciting! I can’t believe I won,” Pangilinan says. “Thank you so much, Pizza Inn.”
Pangilinan and three guests have until December 31, 2012 to take the Caribbean cruise, which includes all food and round-trip air transportation to and from port of departure.
“We are always looking for exciting ways to thank our loyal guests,” says Kendra Shier, vice president of marketing for Pizza Inn. “Last year, we gave away a trip to Italy and this year, a Caribbean cruise.”
