Jim McCarren of Annapolis, Maryland, was honored with the 2005 Franchisee of The Year Award for MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery, a national franchise specializing in ice cream, at the second annual national conference held Nov. 14-17, in Las Vegas, a press release said today.
More than 200 MaggieMoo’s executives and franchisees watched as McCarren received the award.
After four-and-a-half years of success with his first treatery and only a few days after being awarded Franchisee of The Year, McCarren will open a second MaggieMoo’s location in Annapolis after the Thanksgiving holiday. The new treatery is located in the Annapolis Mall at 1021 Annapolis Mall, Annapolis, MD 21401. McCarren’s original treatery is located at Festival at Riva, 2311-B Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401.
McCarren is not content doing business in a routine manner, he prefers to create “ice cream theater.” His staff is well known for their unique ice cream flipping tricks– taught by McCarren. Customers watch in awe as their frozen creations are tossed into the air and deftly caught in a waffle cone or cup.
“We have a lot of fun at work,” McCarren said in the press release. “We actually have customers request the ice cream flip–they love it.”
“This award honors a franchisee who constantly exhibits excellence in their treatery operations, customer service, marketing promotions and sales,” Jon Jameson, CEO of MaggieMoo’s, said in the press release. “Jim McCarren is an outstanding businessman who is committed to providing the MaggieMoo’s mission to his customers everyday. We are proud to honor Jim for his dedication and hard work, he is truly a shining example of how to successfully run a MaggieMoo’s treatery.”
