Growing as one of the hottest Asian concepts in the fast casual restaurant industry, Mama Fu’s Asian House continues to expand its unique flex casual concept and menu throughout the U.S., establishing the sizzling concept for the first time in Lubbock, Texas.

Entrepreneur and restaurateur, Kendall Howard, has opened the newest Mama Fu’s location in Lubbock at 2531 82nd St., as part of a deal to open 11 new locations across northwest Texas and San Antonio in the coming years.

“There is a new niche in Asian fast-casual and after seeing the activity with Panda Express, Pei Wei, and Chipotle’s new concept, I knew I had to get involved,” Howard says. “Mama Fu’s is one of the fastest growing Asian-inspired concepts in this industry, and we look forward to building upon the brand’s existing success.”

Mama Fu’s offers guests convenience, flexibility, value, and unique menu items through high quality, made-to-order, Asian-inspired food. Mama Fu’s also offers delivery as well as its award winning Flex-Casual service model that features counter ordering during lunch with a transition to relaxed, full service at dinner.

Mama Fu’s presents a user-friendly menu that allows guests to navigate and customize their order more easily. Customers can choose their favorite protein paired with a rice dish or noodle bowl based on favorite recipes from traditional Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean menus. More health-conscious guests can select vegetarian or lower calorie variations without sacrificing taste, and Mama Fu’s offers an extensive Gluten Free and Kid’s menu.

“Our flex-casual service model allows us to cater to customer service preferences for each part of the day without raising prices or slowing table turns,” says Randy Murphy, president and CEO of Mama Fu’s. “Mama Fu’s offers something that, until recently, was not available in the franchise marketplace – very good Asian food in a contemporary setting with additional revenue drivers such as online ordering, delivery, and catering.”

A restaurant franchise veteran with 16 years of experience, Howard is also a franchisee of 19 Buffalo Wild Wings locations across west Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, as well as the owner of the local Lubbock high-end steakhouse concept, Las Brisas Steakhouse. Howard is fully engaged with the local community, sitting on the Board of Directors of the Lubbock Restaurant Association, the Board of Directors for Lake Ridge, and the Board of Directors of the University Medical Center. He has raised over $150,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network over the last seven years, and is highly involved with United Way, St. Jude’s, and a number of other charities and youth programs.

Mama Fu’s in Lubbock officially opened Monday, October 1, and is open seven days a week for dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering. The restaurant seats approximately 95 guests inside, has a generous outdoor patio with additional seats, and employs 35-40 people.
