Mama Fu’s Asian House welcomed John Hester to the corporate team as the chief financial officer.

With over fifteen years of experience in all aspects of the foodservice industry, Hester adds dynamic leadership skills, a deep understanding of the industry, and proven track record implementing operational and sales strategies.

“I’m looking forward to joining the leadership team at Mama Fu’s. The concept is unique, and their business model is proven,” says John. “There’s a clear passion for the business that can be seen throughout the system, and I’m excited to be part of it now.  Working closely with the Mama Fu’s team in place, I look forward to contributing to its continued success and national growth.”

A graduate from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in accounting, Hester began his career in public accounting auditing Sysco. He then joined Sysco, where he became a divisional controller at various operating companies throughout the U.S. He also served as corporate controller for Schlotzsky’s Inc. during its high growth cycle, and was most recently the controller and CFO for an Austin, Texas-based Wendy’s franchisee. Hester is a certified public accountant and resides in Austin with his wife and three children.

“Our energetic leaders and dynamic team are what drives this brand in a positive direction,” says Randy Murphy, president and CEO of Mama Fu’s. “Mama Fu’s is poised for growth as Asian cuisine continues to grow as a national trend among consumers and foodies. As we continue to strengthen our brand as a leader in the industry, John is an ideal addition to the team here to help direct and reflect that strength.”
