Mama Fu’s Asian House, the Austin-based concept specializing in innovative Asian cuisine, has a new Black Market Menu available at select locations.

Exclusive to members of the Mama Fu’s loyalty program, the Funatics Club, the secret menu features innovative Asian cuisine developed by Mama Fu’s world-class chefs, selected through an internal culinary challenge. Chefs throughout the Mama Fu’s system compete to showcase their culinary skills and innovation inspired by travels through Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, and Thailand.

"This season's Black Market Menu continues Mama Fu's tradition of serving innovative, mouth-watering dishes. It includes fresh, healthy items that are perfect for the summer months," says Randy Murphy, CEO of Mama Fu's. “This year, the innovation extends to our gluten-free offerings, which are very popular with our customers and a significant part of our business. To thank our gluten-free clientele, we are launching our first gluten-free dessert on this season's Black Market Menu, Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango."

The 2015 spring Mama Fu’s Black Market Menu features the following: Sesame Crusted Tuna Appetizer—seared sesame seed coated tuna over Asian slaw with wasabi mustard sauce and picked cucumbers, daikon, carrots, and ginger; Mango Chicken Vermicelli Salad—steamed chicken and rice vermicelli noodles tossed in togarashi ranch dressing with carrots, red bell peppers, and cucumbers. Served over spring lettuce, and topped with a mango-jalapeño salsa; Yakiudon—Japanese-style pan seared udon noodles with yakisoba sauce, pork, cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, yellow onion, and carrots and topped with pickled ginger, sesame seeds, and scallions; Ma La Stir Fry—a Sichuan classic, the name means “numbing-hot,” features seared chicken with Sichuan peppercorns and dried chilies, tossed with cabbage, mushroom, onion, and water chestnuts served with your choice of rice; Mu Shu Tacos—seared pork with fried egg, shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, yellow onions, scallions, and bean sprouts served on flour tortillas with hoisin sauce; Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango—a traditional Asian dessert made with short-grain rice cooked with sugar and coconut milk, topped with a coconut mango sauce and fresh mint.

At Mama Fu’s, that culinary innovation is showcased and celebrated seasonally with the Black Market Menu. Keeping its menu options fresh and dynamic, Mama Fu’s Black Market Menu is released every six months (in April and October) as an exclusive menu comprised of five to six innovative dishes that are inspired from Mama Fu’s chefs’ experiences traveling through Asian countries.
