McAlister’s Deli announced one of its San Antonio, Texas, restaurants has been relocated to 5880 DeZavala Road. The restaurant, owned by McAlister’s Deli franchise group Southwest Deli, opened on July 7 and features a call-ahead window where guests can pick up to-go orders. The new restaurant is a freestanding building in the same shopping center as the previous location and also features parking and a covered patio.

“We are excited to relocate the DeZavala Road location,. which will allow us to provide even better service to our loyal customers through new features like our call-ahead pick-up window,” says Larry Lee, owner of Southwest Deli. “The pick-up window has been very successful in other markets, and we are looking forward to bringing this feature to the community for the first time. Residents of San Antonio have busy lives, so we are confident that they will enjoy the ability to pick up their orders quickly and conveniently.”

Southwest Deli operates 17 McAlister’s restaurants in Texas and New Mexico. The group has a development plan in place for four states, including continued growth in Texas and New Mexico as well as new territories in Utah and Idaho. In addition to Carlsbad, New Mexico, Southwest Deli opened restaurants in Abilene and Andrews, Texas, in the first quarter of 2014 with plans to open four additional locations this year.

“Our future growth will create approximately 1,200 jobs throughout these local communities and also gives us an opportunity to bring McAlister’s great food and genuine hospitality to more locations,” Lee says.
