McAlister's Deli announced its first location in Carlsbad, New Mexico, opening with franchise group Southwest Deli on Monday, May 12. To celebrate, the restaurant will donate all tips collected within the first month to the local Boys and Girls Club.
"We're excited about bringing the first McAlister's Deli restaurant to Carlsbad," says Larry Lee, owner of Southwest Deli. "We feel confident that the local community will enjoy our great line of soups, salads, sandwiches, and spuds, as well McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea."
Southwest Deli operates 16 McAlister's restaurants in Texas and New Mexico. The group has a development plan in place for four states, including continued growth in Texas and New Mexico, as well as new territories in Utah and Idaho. In addition to Carlsbad, Southwest Deli opened restaurants in Abilene and Andrews, Texas, in the first quarter of 2014 with plans to open four additional locations this year.
"Our future growth will create approximately 1,200 jobs throughout these local communities and also gives us an opportunity to bring McAlister's great food and genuine hospitality to more locations," Lee adds.
