Bill McClintock was named senior vice president of development for McAlister’s last week.
McClintock joined the McAlister’s team with over 23 years of franchise industry experience under his belt, most recently serving as the vice president of franchise sales and development for Buffalo Wild Wings–a position in which he was directly responsible for selling over 120 new franchise development agreements, site selection and approval for all new franchise locations and growing the brand from 50 units in 1997 to over 500 units today. Prior to his tenure with Buffalo Wild Wings, McClintock held a variety of high-ranking franchise sales positions with companies including Panchero’s Mexican Grill, Discovery Zone, FutureKids and Pay N Play Recreational Systems, all of which he feels have provided him the valuable tools he will employ in his new role at McAlister’s Deli.
“I was approached by a number of companies but vowed that I would not accept an offer unless I was truly passionate about the organizational culture and brand. Everything about McAlister’s–from the food to the atmosphere to people–appealed to me,” says McClintock, 58.
In the first quarter alone, he plans to establish a development plan into new U.S. regions by seeking established multiunit food operators looking to add another brand.
“Other concepts may be shying away from growth right now but I think now is a great time to grow a quick-casual brand like McAlister’s,” McClintock says. “Landlords are more willing to negotiate leases for national tenants. McAlister’s can use this opportunity to introduce its great food offerings to more communities than ever before.”
