McDonald’s is set to unveil its new “Citizen Celebrities” packaging featuring 24 consumers selected from its first online Global Casting Call, which received 13,000 entries from around the globe.
The company’s search asked people to submit personal stories of what they love in 100 words or less along with a digital photo capturing the essence of their stories online at www.mcdglobalcasting.com. The final 24 selected individuals (ranging in ages from five to 50 plus years) were chosen based on their entries capturing the “i’m lovin’ it” spirit, celebrating real people, real passions, and real stories.
The finalists will join the ranks of other packaging stars like tennis powerhouses Venus and Serena Williams, basketball sensation Yao Ming, and super-group Destiny’s Child whose faces have all been featured on McDonald’s bags and cups.
