ConAgra Foods announced today the appointment of Joie A. Gregor to the company’s board of directors, effective immediately. The appointment brings the total size of the board to 10 members.

Gregor most recently served as assistant to the president for presidential personnel under President George W. Bush, with responsibility for the recruitment and recommendation of senior-level appointments in the Bush administration. These included all political appointees throughout the executive branch, including cabinet, sub-cabinet and ambassadorial posts, as well as presidential boards and commissions.

Previously, she was vice chairman of the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles Internationa, Inc. Joining as a partner in 1993, she served in a number of senior leadership roles, including president, North America, managing partner of the firm’s Global Board of Directors Practice, and managing partner of the New York office. Prior to her work in executive search, she was with the IBM Corporation, where she held a variety of management positions of increasing responsibility over a 13-year period.
