Merchant Link, a leading provider of payment gateway and data security solutions, announced that it has added Verifone device support to its TransactionLink middleware solution, enabling easy EMV and contactless payment acceptance on integrated point of sale (iPOS) systems.
TransactionLink removes cardholder data from iPOS systems and will enable customer-facing, EMV-capable Verifone payment terminals to prompt consumers through the purchase process while delivering the completed sale information back to the IPOS. Transactions are hardware-encrypted at swipe by Verifone Secure Reading and Exchange of Date (SRED) validated devices, which prevent malware from skimming cardholder data in-flight. The data is then tokenized using format-preserving tokens, allowingmerchants to continue to perform cardholder analytics on purchase data.
“We have added Verifone device support to TransactionLink based on customer demand andthe quality and security of Verifone’s solutions. By adding support for Verifone SRED validateddevices to TransactionLink we are able to extend additional EMV terminal options to our merchants and iPOS partners,” says Geoff Krieg, vice president of product management at Merchant Link.
”The relationship that Verifone and Merchant Link have established gives each of our merchants the ability to confidently and securely manage acceptance of all types of payments, including EMV, NFC and traditional magnetic stripe. Regardless of the type of application — whether ‘pay at the table’ for restaurants, transactions in retail environments, or hotel check-out — using TransactionLink along with Verifone terminal solutions provides merchants with flexible payment acceptance capabilities and security peace of mind,” says Joe Mach, senior vice president and general manager of vertical solutions for Verifone.
