MOD Pizza announced that it will open its first Oregon store on Thursday, November 21, at 5 p.m. Located in the Cedar Hills Crossing shopping center in Beaverton, Oregon, the 2,850 square foot site is situated on a prominent corner at the entrance to the newest phase of the shopping center. This will be MOD’s 12th store and its first location outside of Washington state.

“We have been preparing the MOD concept for expansion for the past several years, and moving into the Portland market is the first step in what will be an exciting phase of rapid, new market growth for our brand,” says Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO. “Building our brand in the Portland area has always been a priority for us, and we are thrilled that our passionate, high-energy MOD Squad is now able to begin connecting and serving such a vibrant community.”

In addition to increasing their presence in the Pacific Northwest, MOD will be opening in its third market in California before the end of 2013.

The grand opening celebration will include free pizza or salad for the first 52 customers in line, a grand prize drawing of pizza for a year, an old fashion photo booth, product samplings, and giveaways.

MOD’s pizzas are Made-On-Demand, which is how the brand gets its name, using organic dough and signature sauces. Customers can create their own pizzas and salads using any combination of 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. In addition to the signature 11-inch MOD pizza, MOD offers a mini six-inch MOD and a mega 11-inch double crust pizza. Pizzas are the same price regardless of the number of toppings and are cooked in an 800 degree oven in less than 3 minutes. MOD also offers local draft beers, wine, sweet and savory knots, milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
