Muscle Maker Grill, a chain of casual eateries that serves freshly prepared meals, announces it will develop ten Muscle Maker Grill restaurants in Chicago, as part of a multi-unit franchise deal. This new agreement marks the chain’s first franchise deal in Illinois and is a significant step toward the company’s expansion plans. The first Chicago location is currently under construction at 1673 W. Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows and is expected to open in October.

“We are thrilled to bring our healthy concept to the Chicago market,” says Rod Silva, founder of Muscle Maker Grill. “With consumer demand for fast-casual restaurants on the rise, we are confident that Chicago residents will enjoy the addition of a healthy, quick dining option.”

The Rolling Meadows restaurant will be the 60th Muscle Maker Grill to open nationwide. In addition to Chicago, Muscle Maker Grill has locations in California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The Rolling Meadows eatery will replace the Hungry Restaurant, which closed last spring. Franchise owner Barry Donalson is thrilled to bring a unique restaurant with a friendly dining atmosphere to the area.

“We look forward to welcoming the Rolling Meadows community and the surrounding area to our restaurant to enjoy our health-conscious menu,” says Donalson. “I think people will be impressed by how great healthier alternatives can taste.”

Muscle Maker Grill was founded in 1995 by Silva with the goal of offering a nutritious alternative to fast food restaurants. It prides itself on creating healthier versions of mainstream favorite dishes that taste great, making it easy and enjoyable to eat healthy.

The menu at Muscle Maker Grill features lean, protein-based dishes including fit salads, wraps, sandwiches, power pastas, and guiltless entrees, as well as fruit smoothies and protein shakes in an assortment of flavors. Each restaurant offers catering, take-out, and delivery services.
