New Calorie Conscious Menu From Uncle Maddio’s Pizza

As restaurants around the country prepare to adhere to the new Food and Drug Administration’s calorie disclosure regulation, Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint launches the 500 Calorie Maddio Meal for guests looking to for lighter options in the New Year.  As many Americans are setting healthy eating goals for 2015, Uncle Maddio’s is ready to meet diners’ needs with a range of calorie-conscious pizzas, paninis, salads and soups for those wanting to dine out while still being mindful of their calorie intake. 

The fast-casual pizza restaurant’s menu has a range of options available, including a selection of items for 500 calories or less.  One of the most popular menu options is Maddio Meal – a 6 inch pizza and salad, a half panini and salad, or a half panini and soup.  There are low calorie items available, with the average Maddio Panini Meal at 457 calories and the average Maddio Pizza Meal at only 340 calories when choosing a cheese pizza. 

“People don’t think about pizza being an option when they are dieting, but at Uncle Maddio’s guests can be as healthy as they want to be,” says Matt Andrew, CEO of Uncle Maddio’s.  “We have always been committed to offering millions of menu options to our guests, with an emphasis on providing healthy foods like vegan, gluten-free and a huge selection of fresh vegetables.  Guests in our restaurants can enjoy great tasting, healthy food without overindulging.”

In addition to signature menu items, Uncle Maddio’s offers premium ingredients and more customizationso diners can make their own healthy choices.  Guests can choose one of three crusts, including a gluten-free option, and have the choice of 48 toppings including six sauces, 27 vegetables and 15 meats. For those with dietary restrictions, Uncle Maddio's serves up a huge selection of healthful options like whole wheat and gluten-free crusts, hormone-free chicken, fresh and local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens. Thirty menu items are made fresh in-house daily and create-your-own signature salads and toasted panini sandwiches round out the Italian-style menu.
