Global Franchise Group, a strategic brand management company, recently added John Barber as its chief development officer.
Barber is responsible for overseeing all domestic and international development for the Global Franchise Group family of brands including Great American Cookies, Marble Slab Creamery, MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream & Treatery, Pretzelmaker/Pretzel Time, and The Athlete’s Foot. The brands are managed by GFG Management LLC, a subsidiary of Global Franchise Group.

Barber, previously senior vice president of franchise sales at Focus Brands, brings to the position experience in strategic management, sales and business development, acquisitions and organizational leadership.
In addition to his franchise development work with Focus Brands, Barber worked with Hot Stuff Foods Lettieri's, the franchisor of convenience stores' "On the Go" food concepts, for several years in multiple leadership roles including chief customer officer, executive vice president of sales and marketing, and executive vice president of development.
