New Maui Wowi Franchise Owner Heads to Florida

Maui Wowi Hawaiian welcomed military veteran and former police detective, Randy Tapia, as its newest franchise owner of the coffee and fruit smoothie company. A New York resident, Tapia will relocate to the coast of Florida to grow his new business.

During his time in the Navy and later the New York Police Department, Tapia says he learned more about himself as a person; what he loves most in life is interacting with people.

"In the police department, I learned how to be empathetic, whether it was with victims or as an authority figure,” says Tapia. “I learned that if I act like a professional, I will be treated as a professional, and most of all, I learned that I enjoy people. Interacting, entertaining, and being entertained; that’s what I enjoy."

This realization led Tapia to Maui Wowi Hawaiian, where he plans to use his skills to succeed as an independent business owner. Tapia will start with a mobile unit as he transitions from New York to Florida and gets the business up and running. The scalability of the franchise concept allows Tapia to start small and work his way up, with plans to open a kiosk.

During his research, Tapia says he was struck by the overwhelmingly positive feedback he received about the Maui Wowi franchise. "I met with a Maui Wowi employee, and she was glowing," says Tapia. “The comments she made about how great the company is, the fact that the support system goes above and beyond, and even considering becoming a franchisee herself; you don’t hear that too often from an employee, so that kind of sold it.”

Maui Wowi Hawaiian has franchisees across the country, and for over three decades, it has promoted healthy lifestyles with an island atmosphere to customers at events, venues, stores, and more.
