The National Restaurant Association announced Joan Rector McGlockton joined the Association as vice president of Industry Affairs and Food Policy. In this position, she will lead the Association’s food regulatory policy and advocacy efforts. McGlockton has extensive experience working with foodservice and hospitality issues, most recently serving as senior vice president of corporate affairs for Sodexho Inc.
“Joan brings a breadth of knowledge of food service and restaurant operational issues to this key leadership role for the Association,” says Scott DeFife, executive vice president of Policy and Government Affairs for the National Restaurant Association. “Food safety and nutrition are critical issues for the National Restaurant Association and our members. We are pleased to welcome Joan to our team, and we look forward to her leadership and expertise.”
In her 12 years of experience with Sodexho Inc., McGlockton served as associate general counsel, where she served on the company’s senior leadership team. She has extensive experience in building strategic alliances and coalitions, as well as managing regulatory matters. Prior to her work with Sodexo, McGlockton served as corporate secretary at Marriott International Inc.
McGlockton has served on several not-for-profit boards including the Sodexho Foundation, the American Dietetic Association Foundation, and the Howard University School of Business Hospitality Management Board of Advisors. McGlockton received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and law degree from Harvard Law School.
