Newk’s Eatery kicked its winter menu offerings up a notch with spicy comfort foods that warm both the soul and the palate. The company’s seasonal menu will include Spicy Sicilian Pizza, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and Buffalo Chicken–enhanced Mac & Cheese. These selections will be available in more than 70 Newk’s restaurants January through April 5.
“Newk’s loyal guests share our adventurous palate and craving for fresh, flavorful dining experiences, so we are giving them some entree combinations that will spice things up in 2015,” says Alan Wright, vice president of marketing and franchise operations. “We are passionate about flavor, and these new entrees are a natural extension of our culinary menu.”
This winter, Newk’s seasonal offerings include two premium additions to the brand’s signature selection of meticulously crafted California-style pizzas. The Spicy Sicilian Pizza consists of hand-rolled dough brushed with chili oil and layered with hot capicola, pepperoni, and spicy salami. The pizza is topped with shredded Mozzarella, Parmesan, and Provolone cheeses and garnished with capers and green onions. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza is topped with spicy Buffalo sauce, freshly grilled chicken, and Cheddar and Provolone cheeses, garnished with Gorgonzola cheese and celery. Guests will not only be able to enjoy the Buffalo spice by the slice but also by the bowl with Newk’s fiery take on classic macaroni and cheese, tossed in Buffalo sauce, served with grilled chicken, and garnished with Gorgonzola cheese and green onions. The pizza LTOs are priced at $8.99 each, while the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese will sell for $7.99 as an entree and $5.99 as a side item.
“Our menu includes carefully sourced, premium ingredients, many of which are imported from Italy and other countries to create unique taste profiles,” says Angel McGowan, director of purchasing. “We regularly import our breadsticks, olive oils, and several of our cheeses, but we’re particularly delighted about the quality of the imported Capicola meat on our newest pizza.”
The Jackson, Mississippi–based Newk’s Eatery has 74 locations and plans to open 14 additional locations by March 2015. Newk’s is featured on Technomic’s list of top 50 fast-casual chains nationwide.
