NSF International, a not-for-profit public health and safety organization, has partnered with Paragon Leadership International, a Michigan-headquartered leadership development firm, to launch a new series of food safety leadership forums –– The Food Epprentice Experience.

Paragon Leadership created the Food Epprentice Experience to further develop the talents and social contribution of the state’s future food industry leaders. Participants will collaborate to create sustainable, innovative solutions to critical challenges such as: increasing public knowledge of safe food handling procedures; expanding agriculture as an economic driver in Michigan; increasing the supply of locally-produced, nutritious food to Michigan food banks; and creating workplace strategies to reduce childhood obesity.

“Developing future leaders with a purpose is our company’s purpose,” says Janice Krupic, CEO of Paragon Leadership. “We are excited to be partnering with NSF International, as they possess the leadership and expertise to drive solutions from ideas to real change within the industry.”

The first one-day forum will take place on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM at NSF International Headquarters. NSF is located at 789 N. Dixboro Road, Ann Arbor, MI, 48105.

“We see a lot of opportunities for growth in Michigan’s 2nd largest industry – food & agriculture,” says Kristen Holt, senior vice president, NSF Food Safety & Quality Programs.

“This initiative will bring together Michigan’s next generation of food industry leaders to discuss and develop solutions that will boost the safety of our food supply and foster economic growth.”
