Pancheros Mexican Grill announced it has opened the doors to its newest restaurant in McKinney at 3905 West University Drive.

Over the years, Pancheros has earned a loyal following for redefining the standards of a burrito. Pancheros has fresh-pressed tortillas and uses a unique spatula to tear down the walls that once stood between the meat, rice, beans and salsas, yielding burritos that are better built. In addition to burritos, the fast-casual restaurant serves burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas and salads. It has also earned popularity for its chips and queso and unique limited time offerings.

“We are thrilled to introduce Pancheros’ high-quality ingredients and customizable menu to Texas, and are excited to spearhead our multi-unit expansion in McKinney,” says Mike Riley, co-owner of Pancheros in McKinney alongside Jeff Bartunek and Mike Kelvin. “This is a brand we believe in and we can’t wait to share the hype with McKinney.

In addition to the McKinney restaurant, the trio plans to open several more Pancheros restaurants throughout Texas.

The new restaurant in McKinney marks the first Pancheros location in Texas, bringing the total to 71 units open across the country.

“Mike, Jeff and Mike are the right entrepreneurs to introduce Pancheros into Texas,” adds Rodney Anderson, founder and CEO of Pancheros. “Their values and strong ties to the McKinney community, their restaurant business acumen and passion for the brand make them the perfect fit as franchisees.”

The brand’s pursuit to build the perfect burrito dates back to 1992, when Pancheros founder Rodney Anderson opened the doors to his first restaurant in downtown Iowa City, Iowa.
