Panda Express, the nation’s largest Chinese quick service chain, will reintroduce its Festival of Shrimp promotion from March 23 through June 14 at more than 500 locations. Throughout the 13-week promotion, Panda Express will offer six new shrimp entrees.

The entrees include Black Pearl Shrimp, Cousin Thai’s Spicy Shrimp, Shrimp with Sugar Peas in Oyster Sauce, Spicy Shrimp with Cashews, Tangy Shrimp with Pineapple, and Kon Pao Shrimp. For $1 extra per shrimp entrée in plate, guests can add shrimp to any two- or three-entrée plate with a choice of steamed rice, fried rice or chow mein.

“The limited time offer builds excitement in our stores, and allows us to meet our guests demand for tasty, premium entrees,” says Vicki Gelberg, vice president of marketing for Panda Restaurant Group, Inc.

Gelberg adds that since the Festival of Shrimp’s original introduction in 1999, the promotion has been a “tremendous success.” Panda Express will communicate Festival of Shrimp to guests though direct mail, FSI, public relations, and radio advertising in select markets of Las Vegas and Phoenix. A mix of POP vehicles including translites, counter cards, under-the-menu-board banners, and posters will support the promotion in-store.
