Covelli Family Limited Partnership, part of the largest franchisee of Panera, LLC, is partnering with Foundation for Foster Children to kick off their annual Flower Cookies for Foster Care campaign in 34 bakery-cafes throughout the Central Florida area. May 10–24, participating cafés will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from every Tulip cookie purchased to Foundation for Foster Children.

Throughout the month of May, Panera Bread is also collecting Community Breadbox donations at the registers of all Orlando-area cafés to raise additional funds in support of Foundation for Foster Children. In the past 10 years, Panera Bread has been able to give over $500,000 to help support kids in foster care.

“There are so many kids in foster care, often feeling like a number in a very standardized system. Since the very beginning, Panera has been a strong partner helping provide the personalized support to kids based on what they need to successful,” says Betsey Bell, executive director, Foundation for Foster Children. “Not only a consistent financial supporter, Panera has increased our awareness in the community and helped connect our kids in foster care to jobs, as well. Together we support amazing, resilient kids who are navigating through a world that is often confusing and scary, but they are just kids who long to love and be loved. None of this can we do without the strong support from the community leaders like Panera Bread.”

The freshly baked all-butter shortbread cookie is shaped like a tulip and decorated with festive spring colors that align with Panera Bread’s clean food policy. The cookie is made free of any artificial flavors, sweeteners, preservatives or colors from artificial sources.

“We are thrilled this will be our 10th year partnering with Foundation for Foster Children” says Moriah Overcash, director of marketing for Panera Bread. “We are fortunate to have such a dynamic organization in our backyard whose mission is to enhance the lives of children in foster care. Together, with the help of our generous customers, we can open our hearts and raise needed money for the children in our community.”
