International Paper announced that after three decades in the industry, Austin Lance, vice president of IP Foodservice, is retiring from the company. Greg Wanta, who most recently served as the vice president of manufacturing for the company’s Printing &
Communications Papers businesses, will take on the role, effective immediately.

Lance began his career with International Paper in 1995 in the company’s papers businesses, where he held various leadership roles in sales, marketing, and general management. He was named vice president of the Coated Papers business in 1999 and made an officer of the company. He became vice president of the Converting Papers business in 2003. In 2005, Lance was named vice president of IP Foodservice. Before joining International Paper, Lance spent 22 years with Mead Corp. serving in a variety of sales, marketing, operational, and financial roles.

Wanta began his career at International Paper in 1991 in the Specialty Papers business in Nicolet, Wisconsin, and went on to hold mill manager roles at Coated Paperboard mills in Augusta, Georgia, and Texarkana, Texas. In 2004, Wanta became the vice president of manufacturing for Coated Paperboard and was made an officer of the company. He was made vice president of manufacturing for Printing & Communications Papers in 2007.
