PDQ (People Dedicated to Quality) restaurants will celebrate its fifth birthday later this month with a Birthday party at every location and the introduction of a special new menu item. To thank PDQ fans for five years of success, PDQ founders Bob Basham and Nick Reader have created a new savory and sweet addition that will join PDQs menu at all restaurant locations on October 28 to kick of the brand’s Birthday weekend.
The new item, which will become a permanent addition to the menu, is PDQ’s Honey Butter Sandwich, priced at $4.70 to $4.99 (varies by location).
PDQ—known for its never frozen, 100 percent natural chicken tenders, made-to-order sandwiches, hand-tossed salads, and hand-spun milkshakes—first opened its doors on October 30, 2011 in Tampa, Florida. The brand is now 55 locations strong across eight states with over 3,000 team members.
PDQ invites fans to celebrate its birthday at all PDQ locations on October 29 and October 30. Guests can enjoy a celebratory weekend filled with giveaways, family fun, and a chance to try PDQ’s new craveable menu item. More than 100 prizes will be given out each day to guests randomly at every store.
“Our success would not have been possible without the dedication of our team members and our valued guests,” Reader says. “We are excited to launch an exciting new item during our birthday weekend, which was handcrafted as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past five years.”
In 2017, PDQ plans to open 22 more stores and enter five new markets: Chicago, Utah, New York, Oklahoma, and Arizona, and by the end of 2018, there will be 100 PDQ restaurants. To date, PDQ has created more than 3,600 direct jobs and currently three operating directors started as minimum wage employees.
