Award-winning restaurant PDQ will open its first airport location at the Tampa International Airport’s Southwest and Frontier Airside C March 20.

“We could not be more excited to open our first-ever PDQ airport location in our hometown of Tampa,” says PDQ CEO and Co-Founder Nick Reader.  “We have a deep love for the city and are excited that we can not only serve our neighbors as they jet off, but also provide quality, delicious dining options to visitors to the area as well. Our team of People Dedicated to Quality looks forward to welcoming those traveling through Tampa and introducing them to our brand.”

The March 20 grand opening of PDQ is a part of Phase 1 of Tampa International Airport’s Master Plan expansion and concessions redevelopment that adds 69 new restaurants, bars, shops and spas to its main and airside terminals. The new additions come at a time when TPA is experiencing record passenger numbers and rapid growth, as the airport served 19.6 million passengers in 2017 and expects to surpass the 20-million mark this year.

“We are delighted to welcome PDQ as part of this transformation. They are a natural addition to our family of dining options here at Tampa International Airport,” says TPA CEO Joe Lopano. “We’ve watched them grow over the past six years and their deep connection to the local community makes them a perfect fit for the redevelopment of our busiest terminal. We are excited they can join us as we undergo this period of expansion and growth.”

Beyond serving as the first airport location for the brand, the PDQ at Tampa International Airport will also be the first location to serve breakfast. Breakfast will be available from 4:00am until 10:30am and will offer guests a variety of options, including sandwiches and bowls, along with tater tots and coffee, tea and soft drinks. New breakfast sandwich options include: the Chicken Biscuit with crispy chicken on a honey butter biscuit; Saucy Sriracha with bacon, egg, cheddar cheese and Sriracha ketchup on an oversized English muffin; and the Avocado, Egg & Cheese with egg, cheddar cheese, tomato, avocado, and homemade ranch on an oversized English muffin. The breakfast bowls begin with a base of scrambled eggs, cheddar and jack cheeses and tater tots, but can be customized with a choice of toppings including crispy honey butter chicken, avocado with fresh salsa, and bacon with Sriracha ketchup. Bonuts will also appear on the new breakfast menu; each six-piece offering features the brand’s signature “donuts” made of housemade biscuit dough that are cooked to perfection, dusted with powdered sugar, and served with a side of homemade toffee dipping sauce.

The remainder of the menu, served after 10:30am, showcases PDQ’s famous hand breaded chicken tenders using fresh, never frozen chicken, hand-crafted sandwiches, made-to-order salads, chicken wraps, fresh baked cookies and hand-spun milkshakes.  Among the sandwiches being offered is PDQ’s new Pimento Crunch with crispy chicken, homemade pimento cheese, Bibb lettuce, sea salt potato chips and bacon.  PDQ’s fan-favorite Honey Butter, featuring crispy chicken, homemade honey butter and bread & butter pickles is also available. Wrap offerings will include the Crispy Chicken Wrap with cheddar and jack cheeses, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mixed greens and honey mustard while the salad section boasts options like the Fruit Harvest with grilled chicken, granny smith apples, candied almonds, craisins, tomatoes, mixed greens and blueberry-ginger vinaigrette. In addition to PDQ’s diverse menu of sides (which include a grab-n-go yogurt parfait, apple slices with homemade toffee dip, fries and tots), all meals are served with a choice of six handmade sauces including: Buffalo Bleu, Sweet Sriracha, Ranch, Honey Mustard, Bleu Cheese and Honey BBQ. All sauces at PDQ are made from scratch every day.
