Pei Wei, the fast-casual restaurant known for its bold flavors and Asian-inspired menu, announced its new summer menu. The seasonal menu features four colorful salads, including three new recipes and one updated take on a guest favorite, along with Honey Sriracha Wings.
The new menu items include:
· Thai Steak & Mango Salad, which features wok-seared steak, Heritage mixed greens, avocado, grape tomato, mango, cucumber, scallions, cilantro, mint, Thai basil, and crispy rice noodles tossed with a chile-lime garlic vinaigrette;
· Ahi Avocado Salad, which is Ahi tuna with Heritage mixed greens, avocado, Asian slaw, cucumber, pickled ginger, toasted sesame seeds, and crispy wontons tossed with a wasabi vinaigrette;
· Vietnamese Rice Noodle Salad, which includes wok-seared chicken with Heritage mixed greens, pickled carrot, mint, Thai basil, scallions, roasted peanuts, and crispy onions mixed with chilled rice noodles and tossed with a chile-lime garlic vinaigrette;
· Honey Sriracha Wings, which are crispy chicken wings, wok-tossed in a spicy honey sriracha sauce and garnished with sesame seeds and scallions.
The updated menu item is the Asian Chopped Chicken Salad, which features hand-pulled chicken with Heritage mixed greens, carrots, red bell pepper, Thai basil, scallions, crispy wontons, and sesame seeds tossed with a ginger-sesame vinaigrette.
Pei Wei believes that eating well is well being, and the three new and one updated salads represent Pei Wei’s commitment to flavors with a purpose. The salads feature anti-oxidant rich peanuts, ginger to calm the nerves, vitamin C rich chilies, and heart-healthy garlic. The ingredients combine to be nutritious, and the ancient method of wok cooking seals in the flavors and helps them work in harmony to please the palate.
“We heard our guests loud and clear when they said they wanted innovative menu options geared toward taste and nutritional value,” says Clay Dover, chief marketing officer of Pei Wei. “Last season, our guests enjoyed the option of having their favorite Wok Classic menu items served over salad, and these four new menu options expand our salad offerings and deliver on Pei Wei’s focus on flavors with purpose.”
“We really drilled down on delivering thoughtful dishes with bright colors, layers of flavor and texture,” says Adam Schreier, director of culinary innovation at Pei Wei. “Each Pei Wei dish is prepared to order; our meat is butchered in-restaurant and vegetables are hand-washed and cut by our chefs daily.”
With respect to the Honey Sriracha Wings, Schreier says, “We tested the wings in eight markets, including our home market of Phoenix. They did phenomenally well, and we expect them to become a new fan favorite.”
Pei Wei’s seasonal menu items will be available at its more than 200 restaurant locations nationwide beginning July 5.
Pei Wei also will be launching an updated Kid’s Wei menu in the near future, with nutritious new kid-approved offerings and a similar focus on food with purpose.
