Pie Five Pizza Says It’s Time to Be Pie-Partisan

Pie Five Pizza, a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings Inc., will invite furloughed federal government employees with a valid ID to come in for one free pizza at their local Pie Five from October 11 through October 13. The fast-casual chain is calling on the government to be, as they say, “pie-partisan.”

In addition, Pie Five invites members of Congress to come in and pay double, adding that goes for the president, too.

“Listen, we’re all frustrated by the nonsense going on in Washington; but the shutdown is no laughing matter for furloughed employees, so we wanted to do our part to make life a little easier on them,” says Flynn Dekker, Pie Five’s chief marketing officer.  “So come on by this weekend, show us your government ID, pinkie promise that you’ve been furloughed, and your favorite personalized pie is on us.”

At Pie Five Pizza, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than five minutes on one of four crusts.

Pie Five was named a 2013 Top 50 Restaurant Brand of the Year, a 2012 Hot Concepts winner by Nation’s Restaurant News, and one of 10 Hot New Restaurant Chains from Established Brands by

The brand now has 12 locations in Texas and one each in Kansas, North Carolina and Utah. Total announced franchise restaurants under contract currently number 105 in Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.
