The opening may possibly be the fastest transformation of a retail brand, de-identifying previously three branded Smoothie Kings to three new Planet Smoothie stores in about 48 hours.
Joining the celebration is Hollywood and New York actor, TV star, talk show host, and entrepreneur, Stephen Baldwin who has signed on to promote Planet Smoothie nationally.
To celebrate Planet Smoothie's entry into NYC, Baldwin will be directing and starring in a short movie, entitled "The Search for Cupman." The global premiere of this movie will take place on May 18 at www.cupmanmovie.com.

Planet Smoothie's R&D Beverage Team is unveiling four new customized smoothies for New Yorkers at the grand opening: The Caribbean King, Skinny "B", Kiwi Kazi, and Big pineAPPLE.
The New Smoothies
-- Caribbean King comes straight from the islands, this smoothie combines papaya, strawberry and banana with a kick of protein powder to accelerate muscle growth and development.
-- Skinny B gives you the choice of strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, or creamsicle and is also blended with protein powder to take your workout to the next level.
-- Kiwi Kazi fosters a healthy appetite and increased metabolism, with our weight loss powder combined with kiwi, papaya and strawberries to help you reach your goal.
-- Big pineAPPLE is a mouth-watering combination of pineapple, banana, papaya and honey in a smooth blend loaded with fruit.
The Seventh Avenue location will also serve a large assortment of fruit and vegetable juices in a "Create Your Own" juice bar, where customers may choose any 3 from a selection of 12 fruits and 10 veggies.
