Lion’s Choice, a St. Louis-based family of restaurants known for their famous roast beef sandwiches, crave-worthy fries and frozen custard, brings back a comfort food favorite for fall with platters. Beginning today, guests may select one protein of famous roast beef or roasted turkey and two sides, served on Texas Toast with gravy, for $8.49. Platters will be available at all locations. On Tuesday, September 29, guests will be able to family-size the platters with a Family Meal with one pound of roast beef or turkey and pints of two sides for $30.
Although platters were originally offered in 2007, last year’s reintroduction to platters was one of the most successful limited time offers for Lion’s Choice in recent years. With a focus on new and improved recipes, Lion’s Choice sold over 28,000 platters last year over the 13-week promotion.
“We think that there’s an inherent desire for comfort food this year more than ever,” says president and CEO Michael Kupstas. “We had an overwhelming response about platters last year, and guests’ schedules are more hectic than ever this year. We believe platters offer an easy, comforting dinner option for the whole family.”
This year’s homestyle side offerings will include mashed potatoes, green beans, steamed broccoli, and mac ‘n cheese. The Family Meal will include the same customization of the platters – pick one protein and two sides. The individual platters will be available today, and the Family Meals will be available starting on September 29.
