Pollo Tropical restaurants are launching their first grilled tropical wings menu items, available in either a five-piece portion for $3.59, or an eight-piece portion with a choice of two regular sides for $6.59.

Pollo Tropical’s Grilled Tropical Wings are spiced and finished over the restaurant’s flame grill. Unlike other wings, Pollo Tropical doesn’t coat the wings with batter or deep-fry them for taste. Instead, the wings get their flavor from mild Caribbean spices, as well as two new, never-before-tasted sauces: Pollo Tropical’s Pineapple Rum Wing Sauce and Spicy Amazon Sauce.

The Grilled Tropical Wings may be ordered as an appetizer or as a meal. The side dishes that come with the eight-piece portion can include balsamic tomatoes, Caesar salad, boiled yuca, corn, or curly fries.
The eight-piece portion of the Grilled Tropical Wings is 400 calories, and contains 38 grams of protein.

“We are very excited about our Grilled Chicken Wings. Our initial in-store testing has exceeded our expectations,” says Jeff Webb, Pollo Tropical vice president of research and development. “We wanted a unique chicken wing product that was grilled instead of fried and had a tasty balance of Caribbean flavors.”
